A2L viewer online
Need to look up one characteristic's address or conversion — without a full INCA/CANape seat? Drop your .a2l file below and browse it as a searchable tree and table. Parsing happens in your browser; the file never leaves your machine, which matters when the database is OEM confidential.
- GROUP tree on the left, records on the right — no flat-text scrolling
- Search across names, long identifiers and conversion methods
- Addresses, deposit types, formats and min/max at a glance
- Fault-tolerant parsing: vendor quirks become warnings, not crashes
How it works
- 1Open the A2L viewer and drop your .a2l file (or try the sample).
- 2Filter the tree or search records by name, type or conversion.
- 3Export the visible data to Excel, CSV or JSON when you need it in another tool.
Frequently asked questions
What is an A2L file?
It is an ASAM MCD-2 MC (ASAP2) description of an ECU's calibration and measurement interface: which parameters exist, where they live in memory, how raw values convert to physical units, and how they are grouped.
Can it connect to the ECU and read values?
No — CANpeek is a static viewer. It shows definitions from the file; it does not communicate with an ECU over XCP/CCP.
Why browser-based instead of a desktop tool?
No install, no license, works on locked-down PCs — and because parsing is local, confidential ECU databases never leave your laptop.
Your file never leaves your browser
CANpeek parses DBC and A2L files entirely client-side — there is no upload step, no account, and nothing stored. There is currently no paid product; full export is planned for Pro.
