Convert DBC to CSV online

CSV is the universal interchange format: it opens in Excel, loads with pandas.read_csv, imports into MATLAB and diff-merges in git. Drop your .dbc file and download a clean, one-row-per-signal CSV in seconds — all locally in your browser.

  • One header row, one row per signal — pivot-table ready
  • Comma-separated, UTF-8 encoded, quoted where needed
  • Include or skip comments and value descriptions
  • Works offline once the page is loaded — nothing to install

How it works

  1. 1Open the DBC viewer and drop your .dbc file.
  2. 2Click Export and choose CSV. The current preview exports the first 20 rows.
  3. 3Open the file in Excel, pandas or MATLAB. Full export and batch conversion will be available when Pro launches.

Frequently asked questions

Can I script the conversion with Python instead?

Yes — the JSON export pairs well with a small Python script, and the CSV itself loads directly into pandas. CANpeek exists for when you don't want to maintain that script.

Which delimiter is used?

Comma, with quoting per RFC 4180. Excel and pandas both open the output without extra settings.

Do multiplexed signals survive the export?

They are exported as regular rows; the multiplexer relationship is preserved in the signal name and comment columns.

Your file never leaves your browser

CANpeek parses DBC and A2L files entirely client-side — there is no upload step, no account, and nothing stored. There is currently no paid product; full export is planned for Pro.
